Founded in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney (who is presently a candidate for sainthood), the Knights of Columbus is an organization of Catholic men dedicated to upholding the principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism.
On a local level, we sponsor an annual Tootsie-Roll Drive to assist learning impaired youth, a basketball free-throw competition, soup and chili luncheon, student backpack lunches for the needy, and disaster relief. Knights of Columbus also provides funding for numerous international events such as televising ceremonies from the Vatican. Each chapter sponsors an "Adopt-A-Seminarian" providing moral and financial support to student seminarians in the diocese.
Local officers are Grand Knight Pat Seiter, John Borst, Paul Burk, Mike McDonald, Louis Seiter, WIlliam Teichgraeber, and Leo Thill.
